3 Changes

Our recycling project brings three innovative changes to customers.

The 1st Change

To become the star in the dawn
of resource recycling culture.

More and more companies recognize the limited resources of the earth as an important factor in their corporate activities. Those significant changes have already been happening. We all need to keep pace with the changing times, not to become a “ frog in a pot of water”. If you make it, your company will become the leading company in the era.

The 2nd Change

Taking advantage of Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR)

We believe that working sincerely will contribute to society starting one by one. That repetition will strengthen your company. We believe companies that conduct CSR activities will be significant for everyone and the earth.

The 3rd Change

Gaining the capability to survive in the environmental century

The Japanese government has set a goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 25% in 2020 compared to 1990. The goal is unavoidable for companies. This is a significant change once every 100 years, and a new era (environmental century) is already here. It is important for companies to shift from the negative idea in short-term to see things positively in the long-term. It has become one of the conditions for businesses to contribute to environmental issues. It is important to recognize that there is a business opportunity loss by not pursuing environmental activities. Transformation is required to survive in the environmental era.

A washing system with overwhelmingly less water consumption.

The plastic bag with residue is passed through a washing machine equipped with high-speed rotary blades and a shower mechanism, rather than rotating and washing in water like a washing machine. That mechanism achieves genuine cleaning with overwhelmingly less water.

“From disposal to recycling” – A significant effect on CO2 reduction.

Controlling CO2 emissions leads to risk hedge for companies. Carbon tax has been considered as a government policy for a long time. Looking at the movement, it is expected that the companies are likely to deal with CO2 emissions in the future. Bun-Sen achieves the hedging for companies in the aspect of CO2 emission cost.

Authentic cleaning in a short time – with overwhelming energy saving

Only Bun-Sen can clean and dewater the inner remaining in just 2 seconds from the plastic bag loading to bag breaking, cleaning and dehydration. The Bun-Sen cleaning mechanism is a patented technology.
(6 patents in Japan , 2 in China, 1 in Taiwan, and 1 in the United States)

Bun-Sen is compact so that it can be installed easily even if there is no space in a backyard.

Establishing a route to sell recycled resources as valuable materials

Q: What made you try to develop a good product for the environment?

When we decided to develop our own products, “Bio”, “Nanotechnology” and “Environment” were the keywords of the times. We decided to develop products in the environmental field because it is the best for us to take advantage of our metal-processing technology.

Q: How did you come up with the product “Bun-sen”?

It is most important to decide what to make when you develop new products. It is generally difficult for SMEs to enter the existing market so we believed the only way was to find that one product. We heard about the plastic bags used for collecting empty cans while listening to the market thoroughly. The bags were all treated as waste because there were no ways of washing them, and were either incinerated or put in landfills. Then, we came up with the idea that if a plastic bag could be washed, it could be used as plastic raw material. We developed the product 2 years after we made the sample.

Q: What was the challenges in designing “Bun-sen”?

“Less water consumption” “Compact” “Fast cleaning” we assume that a machine that cleans plastic bags and plastic waste uses a large amount of water and the machine size is huge. We asked employees to post ideas for the new products. In fact, most of the ideas are also those kind of thoughts. However, the product based on the ideas requires a large space for installation so we decided to develop it based on our existing sorting machine “Bun-Bun”. We thought that it would be better to wash longer in the machine in order to clean it properly so we designed it to prevent the plastic bags from being discharged immediately. We also attached many nozzles and underwent a trial operation. However, the washed bags were not discharged out of the machine. Then, we took out the parts and conducted a trial operation. And we got unexpectedly good results.

We made a hole for the dehydrating effect because the plastic bags to be discharged cannot be recycled if they are wet. But water still comes out of the discharge duct. We just kept looking at the nozzle outlet carefully for an hour while turning the machine on to figure out a solution for stopping the water. Depending on the object that’s thrown in, the remaining content in the bags may be poorly removed or not discharged properly. We changed the shape, the dimensions and so on many times. Our washing machines “Bun-Sen” were developed through the trial and error process.

Q: What are your expectations for “Bun-sen”?

Environmental related products never penetrate in the market if companies have no mechanism that generates profits. It is not helpful to just say “for the environment” without the mechanism. Bun-Sen’s core value is to balance management and the environment by cleaning the waste and turning it into valuable recycled resources which our customers can sell. That’s our value. We always listen to customer feedback and respond carefully to their requests as much as we can. Then, we hope more companies use our products. That’s our way to contribute to our society and the earth.
